The Defense Department's Elizabeth McGrath told a Senate committee hearing: “In terms of passing the data from the legacy environment into the ERP, we do not have standard data across the enterprise, and so it becomes evident in the implementations.”
So, here we have a large and complex organization moving from a slew of legacy systems to modern ERP systems for applications like payroll. Does anyone share my surprise that the lack of standardized data only “becomes evident” during implementation?
Six billion dollars... You could build a bionic man for that money. And never in my worst nightmare have I ever imagined reporting a project 31 years overdue. This can't be the right way for people to learn that Data Standards Matter.
